Donation Items

Needed Items

We appreciate your support. Here is a list of items that we like to keep on hand for our guests. At this time, we are not accepting clothing.

Gently Used Items

We do not have storage space for large amounts of clothing. At this time we are not accepting clothing. We do like to keep emergency seasonal items on hand and will post updates when additional items are needed.

If you have nice business clothing to donate, please consider donating to Dress for Success. If you have clothing items you would like to donate we recommend the JCPS Clothing Assistance program, Goodwill, or Nearly New Shop. We refer guests to these locations for clothing as well as Calvary Episcopal Church, Schuhmann Clothing Closet, and Sanctuary Church: Mary's Community Closet.

We will send out an email when a need arises. If you are interested in being on our list please email us the size clothing you have available to donate@uplouisville.org.

Thank you for your support!

Volunteers are at the heart of our organization. They greet guests, file and pull mail, assist with laundry and shower supplies, and a variety of individual needs so that case managers can focus on connecting women to the vital resources they need to reclaim their lives.

These are our current volunteer opportunities:

  • Admin Volunteer (includes answering phones/taking message, among other administrative tasks)

  • Shelter Volunteer (assist with shelter tasks for clients: sorting & delivering mail, filling supplies orders, assisting with laundry and showers, etc.)

If you are interested in volunteering, or learning more about the different opportunities we have for you to be involved, please complete the application form.

team up

Team UP monthly is our sustainable giving program which helps UP provide programs and services throughout the year, as well as work toward our future goals.

As we look forward to the years ahead, and the future of UP, we remain dedicated to sustainably serving as many women and children experiencing homelessness in our community as we can. For us, that means moving into a larger space to safely accommodate more guests, provide additional services, and expand our service days.

The vital documentation that UP provides is the first step to helping our guests achieve self-sufficiency. Vital documents include IDs, birth certificates, social security cards, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, and driving records. IDs and vital documents are necessary to help our guests become housing ready.

Please support our mission by donating to Team UP monthly by selecting below ’Show my support by making this a monthly donation’. Once you join, your gift will be processed automatically each month, and your donation subscription can be edited or canceled at any time by reaching out to us at empower@uplouisville.org or (502) 384-0001.

30 for 30

30 for 30

30 for 30 is gathering you host and an amazing way for you to get involved in supporting UP.   A 30 for 30 gathering can come in many forms, the main goal is to invite a minimum of 30 persons to attend an event/activity that you host in support of UP in which they are asked to donate a minimum of $30 each.

This event/activity could be a dinner hosted wherever you choose, a backyard BBQ,  Pool party, Book Club gathering, Ladies night out, Men’s golf gathering, church bible study….the possibilities are endless!

The goal of 30 for 30 is to help raise money and educate friends and family about the amazing things taking place at UP for Women & Children.
